Our Mission

The Child Witness Court Preparation Program is operated by The Canadian Society for the Investigation of Child Abuse (CSICA), which is an organization committed to supporting those victims, witnesses and their families involved in the investigation of child abuse.

Our Mandate

The Canadian Society for the Investigation of Child Abuse is committed to supporting professionals, communities, victims and witnesses involved in the investigation of child abuse through:

• Development & delivery of educational products & services
• Promotion of a coordinated, interdisciplinary approach to child abuse investigations
• Identification and response to key issues and concerns of child abuse investigators
• Advocacy for excellence and professionalism in the investigation of child abuse
• Research
• Promotion of the well-being of children and families going through the investigative process
• Provision of professional training

 

Our Background

In 2004, CSICA ntroduced an on-line web based court preparation program at www.childcourtprep.com to accommodate children throughout Alberta and the rest of Canada who are unable to access formal preparation programs because they live in rural areas, have working parents who are unable to transport them or feel more comfortable participating in an online environment.  The four components of the website include a children’s site, a teen site, a parent site and a court preparation facilitator site.

 

Child Court Prep Program

The Child Court Prep program provides the tools and resources parents and facilitators need to help children and teens prepare for their day in court.
